Totally lost!

I got up just before 6am & was out the door running at 6:15am. Had my voice back & felt pretty damn good:)
Had no idea where I was going, just thought I'd run an easy pace. I'm doing a 10k race out at the hunter valley gardens tomorrow, so I made sure I ran easy today. Ran 16k. 1:17:44.
Also ran another 3k at 11.30am with a client. So ran 19k in total.
I did some loop & thought I was close to the motel when I noticed I'd just gone in circles!
Did most of the run 1/2 asleep. I had a look at my watch thinking I must have been running for 20min & to my shock horror I'd only been going 8min!
It wasn't too cold. 2 deg.I was all rugged up.....tights, long sleeve top, jacket & gloves. The gloves had to come off after 8min.
The weather was perfect running weather.
I was feeling quite buggered after 40min but just plodded along not thinking about much.

Muscles were all good...no worries at all:)

Was a long day...lots of driving. Did 10min of stretching when I got home.

Now food for the day
Bfast was 2 bowls of nutragrain & 2 cups of coffee
Lunch was a pkt of rice crackers, yoghurt & some choc flavoured drink. Munched on kool mints on my way home.
Pulled into macca's for a coffee & dinner was falafal (can't spell!) & pasta, a couple glasses of pepsi.
Drank just over 2lt of water for the day.

Looking forward to the race tomorrow......not really I'm just saying that to get myself motivated!
Think it will be quite hard.

Hope you all had a magic day & stay tuned tomorrow & I'll tell you how I went in the race

It's Friday!!:)

Well I woke up feeling all good! No clogged head:)
Today I was off to Canberra, so a pretty busy day. There was a pretty bad smash on one of the bridges, I think it was Jolls bridge. That held me up for 1/2 hour.

Started the run at 6pm. I did an easy run from Queanbeyan to Fyshwick & back. Reckon it was 12.5k. I ran for 30min then turned around. Took 58:05 to do the run.
Felt tired & no energy for the first 35min so it was a bit of a struggle. Got a second wind on my way back. All my muscles felt good, so I was quite happy with the run. Was getting really, really, really hungry after 20min.

It wasn't as cold as I thought. I got here a bit after 2:30pm & it was only 10 deg. Would've been around 5 deg when I ran at 6pm.

Food wise was some toast with honey & coffee for b'ast
Lunch was a salad roll
And dinner.......well don't know yet....will go get something shortly.
On my way down to Canberra I got through a packet of kool mints (they keep me from getting bored if I'm munchin on them) Also had a coffee from mcdonalds just before Goulburn.
Just ate 2 cape fruit & nut rolls from bakers delight, just before I wrote this.

Tomorrow I'll get up early & be out running just after 6am. Will again run pretty easy for around 15-16k.

Hope everyone did a bit of exercise today.

Ohhhhh gotta go tummy's saying "GET SOME BLOODY FOOD IN ME!"

Darn dogs!

First thing I notice when I woke up was my clogged up head was not so clogged up!

Now I hear alot of people say "I don't have time" I could've used that excuse quite easily today.

With a 7am start & not getting home until 7pm I could've quite easy not done a darn thing.
Instead I was lucky enough to have 1hr & 10min spare at 8am. So thats when I went for my run.

Ran 11k. Wanted to do 15k but was short on time. Took 53:18.
Ran hard up all the hills & ran easy down them.
Started at the gym to Terrigal dve, up to Serpentine, down Hastings all the way to Willoughby rd, chucked a right to Terrigal dve, then ran back.
Not an easy run. Felt sluggish until I got to Serpentine then started to feel good.
Who the bloody hell decided to make Hastings road so bloody steep?
Now all was going pretty good then I'm grinding my way up Hastings & there they were! 2 dogs at the top of the hill just waiting for me to get closer. I'm thinking...labrador, should be ok, but the other thing...mmmm looks like some kind of red healer. Then fenced up these other 2 little yap yaps started going barking mad! Now labrador starts barking then red follows. I start fearing then think nope I'm gonna show em who's boss.
I'm getting closer & their getting louder. Then when I'm like 20m away I sprinted at em. Then they just stopped. Red took off & Labrador just sat there saying pat me...so I did & I was off on my merry way, but my heart rate was pounding. After that I thought the rest of the run would be a breeze.
On Terrigal drive the traffic was banked up so I thought I'd race the cars. That made it alot easier to take my mind off the hills on Terrigal dve.

Muscles were great, no pain. (thats a good sign!)

Did 15min stretching & relaxing when I got home.

Ok diet not good today!
Bfast 2 slices of toast with jam + cup of coffee
Lunch had to be quick. (I had 10min between 1:05 & 1:15 to get a bite to eat), so a very quick sprint to bakers delight & 4 date scones later I was rockin & rollin!
Dinner was pasta again & a yoghurt.
Only drank around 2.5lt of water.

Tomorrow's an easy run day.
I'll have to run that in the arvo & to make it really interesing I'll have to do it in Canberra. It's gonna be COLD!

slow run = great run!

Another early start & again was all clogged up. Muscles felt pretty good though.
Today was my easy running day, so an easy run I did. Felt fantastic!
Now outside it was raining, not heavy but still rain. Do I run on the treadmill yuk! or go outside with my clogged up head & risk getting worse?
I decided to warmup on the treadmill then concur the great outdoors.

Started run around 8ish. Did 2k on the treadmill in 9:39 then ran from the gym up wells st to East Gosford, back along The entrance rd, left at the woodport inn. Followed that around to Wells st, then back up to the gym. When I got back I did another 2k on the treadmill in 8:45. The run outside was 10k. So including the treadmill I ran 14k in total. Didn't take my watch with me.

Felt great on the run. So much better than indoors. The rain was just drizzle & with no wind I could've just kept going. No niggles anywhere, but I was running slow. I love running slow!

After the run I did about 15min on the cable machine & spent 15min standing on a dura disc attempting to get my body in balance.

So there you go guys, have run 14k today & 12k yesterday so 26k in total.

Now what did I eat...........ok here we go.....
Bfast was 2 slices of toast with jam, now thats white toast, plain white toast, not multigrain, not soy & linseed, not wholemeal, not organic, not sourdough, not rye....just plain white toast, but the jam was some fruit spread stuff made in France, so I guess thats kinda healthy? Had a cup of coffee as well.
After the run...well 2hrs after I had some yoghurt...mmmmm love yoghurt!

Lunch was some museli, then not long later I thought stuff it & ate a whole packet of kool mints.....some of you know I love em:).....If you didn't well you do now.

Arvo snack was almonds, now not just a handful but close to 300 grams.

Dinner was tuna mixed in with pasta, some pepsi then as I write this I'm munchin on a snickers. See Jess I told you I eat pretty crap & love my snickers....but remember I ran 14k today!

Water was almost 3lt.

Tomorrow I'll run hills.
What will YOU be doing tomorrow?

Hope everyone had an awesome day

not easy stuff!

Well first day of the week for me exercise wise & I did my speed work session.
I woke up all clogged up & the darn voice I had wasn't mine. Not sure where mine was but it came back slowly through out the day.
Now as I was driving to work & I looked at the rain the more I thought about the treadmill. Now I hate the treadmill. I hate the thing with a passion, & since I'm training for the Melbourne marathon whats the chance of it raining? So I SHOULD run outside in the frezzing cold windy rain but bugger it, I'm not making this cloggy thing worse so I did the treadmill thing.
Go to grab the ipod & Dohhh I left the bloody thing at home. Day's going great!

I got on the treadmill just after 8am & ran 12k in around 52min. Now to break the run down I did 1k easy 5:20 (light sweat),
1k hard 3:49 (big sweat),
1k easy 5:01 (feel okish),
2k hard 7:40 (last 500m I'm thinking I wanna go home!),
1k easy 5:12 (starting to get very bored),
3k hard 11:45 (thinking to myself why, why why???),
1k easy 5min something...was kinda too stuffed to push the button on my watch
2k hard 7:36. DONE, DONE, DONE!

So there you go, thats my run for the day.
Around 11:30 I'm feeling pretty good so I have a bit of spare time on my hands so I do a 25min core/balance workout on the swiss ball & the cable machine.
A bit later in the day I got on the foam roller for 15min. Legs getting loose now.

Now for those that want to know what I ate.
B'fast I had 2 slices of toast with some jam & a cup of coffee
About 1hr & 1/2 after my run I had a cappuccino & 2 date scones from the daily grind & some walnuts & almonds
umm lunch was some yoghurt & tuna roll, had a couple of apples later on...so not doing too bad, then on my way home I have 2 snickers bar's.
Dinner I cook up some rice with all these different sauces thrown in it. Drink about 2 glasses of pepsi & thats it.
Oh yeah I drank just over 3.5lt of water for the day.

Well tomorrow's a new day & I'm gonna do an easy run. Mabye 12-15k. Will see how I feel tomorrow:)

Rest day:)

Today being a Monday is my sleep in day...woooohoooo!

All that foam roller work yesterday worked like a charm. That & the walk along the beach. Woke up with fresh legs.

The only thing I did workout wise was around 10min standing on a bosu...but like I say "anything is better than nothing"
I guess you could call focus pad work (boxing sessions I do with you guys & girls) a bit of a workout.

Now some of you want to know what I shove in my tum....well it's not always good (but I don't have to lose weight!) Today it was museli with honey & a cup of coffee for b'fast......lunch was 2 apples, 2 fruit & nut rolls from baker delight (my favourite shop!) Some almonds later on & as I write this I have a heap of pasta cooking for dinner.Around 2 1/2 lt of water for the day.

So there you go, rest day done. Tomorrow the first week of proper training begins.
Tomorrow is a speed work session. Don't know how far or how long yet. Will decide that last min, just know it won't be easy.

First long run

Well guys & gals this is my first long run since I did the Goldcoast marathon 2weeks ago, & let me tell you it was pretty darn hard! BUT I DID IT!

Ran 26k in 2:08:18 or 4:56min a km. Put the treadmill on grade 2 & at 12.3kph & that's about the pace I held on average.
Now as far as muscle wise goes all was good untill around 1hr20min when I could feel my ITB getting tight. It was good on the flat but tight on the hills.
Ran from Wamberal through Terrigal up to nth Avoca over to Avoca, all the way to Avoca dve to the entrance rd then to Terrigal dve then back. Thank god for the ipod! Oh yeah did a lap of the haven as well.

Now for a recovery it was a walk in the water along the beach, then a cycle class in the evening....now that was hard!

As you all know I love the foam roller & I spent 20min on that before the class & another 15min after, then later that night got on it again.........PAIN!

So there you go, a very typical Sunday & am looking forward to a sleep in tomorrow.

12 weeks untill the marathon.

Am thinking of entering a 10k race up in the Hunter next Sunday.
