good run, good food, good day!

Don't they look great!

I had a good run but it was much slower than I hoped. I ran the 10k in 37:44, but they made the course slightly longer. Someone had a gps on & it said 10.2k so if that's the case thats not too bad.
I feel as if I'm ready for this marathon....bring it on!
I ran a total of 12k today

Food for the day wasn't the best!
1 slice of toast with jam before the run
Lunch was EVERYTHING & ALOT OF IT!
Dinner????....too full!
Tomorrow I'm off on my last long run before the marathon. Will run around 2hr 30min.
Off to megamania with the girls tomorrow. It's an indoor playland. They can play & I can read the paper & relax:)

friday rest day & I pick up my girls!

I felt buggered today. Mabye because I didn't run. It was good to have today off running.

Had toast with jam for b'fast
Lunch was nothing
Afternoon snack was 2 date scones & 2 apples
Dinner had hot chips
Drank 1.5lt of water

I woke up quite sore in the shoulders & legs were stiff. Not sure why the shoulders were sore. Need to get on the roller!
I didn't feel like running but just did it anyway.
Ran at 1pm
I ran from ocean view along the flat 10k then 2 laps of the haven, up the senic hwy, then down chales kay, then back. 16k in total in 1:16:46 (4:47 pace)
Could just feel my knee slightly but it's all good.
Glad I did the run.

Had a bowl of museli & 2 slices of toast & coffee for b'fast

sub 3:30 pace!

O my gosh!....I have finally done it....WOW! I ran 5.6km for the 6@6 in 19:33. Thats 3:29 a km. I have never ran any race with my km under 3:30 for average. Thats exciting. It means I'm getting fitter & faster. Not bad for an old guy!
I was the first to finish. The last lap was the hardest. I hang in there but was sooooo stuffed when I finished. I fell to the ground & didn't even feel the prickles!
I ran 1km before the time trial & 4km after
I ran a total of 10.6km
Tomorrow I'll run some hills

B'fast was 2 slices toast with jam & coffee
Lunch was a banana roll
Afternoon snack was 2 date scones
Dinner was apricot curry chicken & some turkish bread
Drank only 1.5lt of water

Ohhhh pick up my girls on Friday!!!! I'll post some pic's of them while I have them for the holidays

Good longish run

Well like I said I was going to do. I ran 8.5k on my own running from the gym around Kincumber mountain down back to the entrance rd then back to the gym. I ran really slow on that run, around 5:40 pace, then 15min later I ran with Michael. We went again on the base of Kincumber mountain then up into Terrigal along Charles Kay to the haven where we did 1 lap, then ran back along terrigal dve. It was 16.5k & did that in 1:24 so a pretty slow run.
All in all I felt really good. I took off at the end.
Tomorrow I'm doing the 6@6 & want to beat last weeks time of 19:58. I feel I can do that.
Again I'm feeling quite fit at the moment

B'fast was 2 slices of toast with jam.
After run had 4 date scones...(hey I was bloody hungry!)...& a latte
Lunch was tuna salad & almonds
Dinner was pasta with curry vegies

Must have drank close to 3lt of water

OHhhhhhh only 1 week & a bit to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm kinda getting more excited now. I feel fit & ready!

Had 2 apricot delight rolls from bakers for b'fast & coffee.
Lunch was a tuna salad roll
Dinner was pasta
Drank 3lt of water

St Marys 6.2k plus friggin hot long run!

Today was bloody hot!
Had a fantastic race though
It started at 9am & went 2 laps of a grass track then out on the streets of St Marys.
I came 5th overall & 1st in my age group. I broke the course record for my age group.
It was 6.2k which I ran in 22:22 (3:36 a km)
The heat made it hard. I was coming 3rd at the 3k mark but just couldn't hold on to the pace.
Splits were
2km - 7:01
3km - 3:28
4km - 3:58
5km - 3:23
6.2km - 4:30

I did a 3k warmup then a 4.5k warmdown

After the presentations I set out for my long run.
I went for 18km in 1:29:47. (4:59 akm)
Got swopped by 2 magpies!....lookout there out there!!
When I finished my run it was blowing a gale & was 34 degrees! I was going to run for over 2hrs but it was just too hot!

Saturday - Lake Burley Griffin

I ran the 15.6k part of the lake in Canberra.
I ran without a watch.
Legs felt great. Really shocked how good they felt!

early friday easy run

I just ran easy today. Just did the flat 10k plus a couple of laps of the haven.

No idea how I felt as I'm writing this on Sunday.
Forget about me remembering what I ate!

I do know that I had no pain
