easy thurs with hills

Ran easy to Nth Avoca, along the beach up the skillion & back home. 12k in total in just over an hour.
Legs were a bit heavy from yesterday. Still happy with the run. No pain anywhere.

Tomorrow I'll run easy in the morning, then off to Canberra in the afternoon. I'm going in a 6.2km race at St Marys on Sunday

I'm tired!...zzzzzzzzzzzz!!

2 runs





here are some pics of the Sydney half marathon



Did 2 runs today. One was a very easy 12k in the morning. I just ran around the streets of Wamberal & Terrigal
I ran very, very slow. Enjoyed the run though

Second run was 6@6. Thats a 6k run at 6pm. It's really 5.6k. It starts at the oval across the road from the leagues club. I did that in 19:58 (3:33 akm)

I ran pretty easy for the first lap then picked the pace up. Came 2nd. There were only a handful of runners there. I'll make that a regular wed run from now on.

Had 4 slices of toast with jam & coffee for b'fast
Lunch was salad roll
afternoon snack was 2 date scones & apricot delight roll from bakers
Dinner was satay mince with rice

Drank 2lt of water

hot run!

Today was quite hot. The heat made it hard. I did the same run as last Tuesday. Ran from the gym up to the old waterslide to tumbi rd then back. 22km in 1:38:04. (4:27 a km) Last week I did it in 1:42:34, so 4:30 quicker today. Thats not bad considering the heat.
I started off at a moderate pace & tried to keep that pace the whole way. But at the end with brooks hill & it getting hotter it was too hard. But still kept a great pace.
Knee was good.

Had normal b'fast...4 slices of toast with jam & coffee
Before run had a protien drink
Lunch was can coke, choc milkshake & 6inch roast beef sub with all the salads from subway.
Afternoon snack was 2 apricot delight rolls & 1 cape fruit & nut roll from Bakers delight
Dinner was a cheesy pasta bake
Drank 4lt water

Tomorrow I'll do a light morning run, then the 6@6 in the arvo

ahhhh.....rest! accom paid for

I had a no run day today & I didn't mind at all. I did feel like running though & had to tell myself not to.
My legs felt great, not even slightly sore or tired from yesterdays half. Gotta be happy with that!
The only thing I did today besides work was a 40min walk on the beach.
The magic weather is back!

2 date & walnut scones & coffee was my monday b'fast
tuna on toast was lunch
Dinner was organic pasta with some organic tomato based sauce
Drank around 1.5lt of water & had 4 glasses of coke & 3 glasses of milk.

There you go.....short & sweet!

I paid for the accommodation today.
Must admit I'm getting excited now. Only 3 weeks to go & I'm feeling fit & ready.
That half yesterday proved to myself that I'm in the best shape I've ever been in

another half, another pb on another HARD COURSE!....WOW I'm pretty happy!

This was a great day!
Managed to do the sydney half in 81:18 by my watch. That was a bit quicker than Lake Macquarie half a few weeks ago & that was a flat course this was pretty hilly.
I know I'll break 80min shortly.
The day was magic.
I got up at 3:30am & had some toast. Got on the trotters bus down at terrigal pub at 4:30am.
Race got started at 6:30am. I jogged to the start as a warmup & was right up the front.

Did a cycle class in the afternoon

Now I ate 3 slices of toast with honey for b'fast & coffee & a powerade
Now b'fast was at 3:30am and the next thing I ate was around 11:30am. After walking around the rocks for what I thought was for ever looking for a cafe that had tables AND served a b'fast menu we finally found a german cafe. Anyway after I got my 2 eggs, some type of german sausage 1/2 a tomato...ohhh they forgot my bread roll......I soon fixed that up...also enjoyed my $6.50 choc milkshake!!!! This food hardly touched the sides....well it missed the sides.
Had a coffee from starbucks a bit later.
Had a powerbar just before cycle
Dinner was a wambie whopper with thw works & chips......now that DID touch the sides...mmmm yummmooo.
Finished the night with a couple of beers
